Position Summary

The Office of Academic Affairs is seeking a self-motivated individual to join our team as an Administrative Assistant 2. This position will provide office support and requires someone with excellent communication and customer service skills. The selected candidate will support the Vice Provost for Student Success.

This individual must be willing and able to work in a professional, fast paced environment. The position will include performing a variety of administrative support responsibilities in an executive office.

It is essential in this position that the selected candidate have excellent attention to detail, organization, multi-tasking abilities, and a willingness to learn and work in a team environment. The selected candidate must possess excellent oral and written communication skills to include working with highly sensitive and confidential information.

The selected individual will provide a range of office support to include:

· Scheduling and facilitating meetings

· Taking notes/minutes at meetings

· Maintaining and organizing confidential files

· Answering phones and directing calls

· Assisting in event planning and logistics

· Providing good customer service

· Supporting team members with administrative needs

Conditions of Employment
  • If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.
  • All regular, non-temporary positions assigned to this classification are represented by a labor union and subject to the terms and conditions of the US-UNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

  • Experience scheduling and coordinating complex meetings
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
  • Demonstrated organizational skills
  • Experience working in an upper level administrative/executive office setting
  • Excellent interpersonal, teamwork and problem-solving skills
