Position Summary

The School of Medicine Research Group (SOMRG) providessupport and comprehensive training in both clinical and biomedical sciences. SOMRGseeks a professional, customer-focused, highly organized multi-tasker to fillthe position of Administrative Assistant III.

This front office positionrequires someone with excellent communication and customer service skills andthe ability to represent the department in a friendly, professional manner.This position works closely with office leadership and staff to provide frontdesk support, which includes assisting students and visitors, and resolving orreferring a range of administrative inquiries.
Administrative support will Include: purchasing, P Cardtransactions, Chrome River reconciliations, specialized record-keeping, supportactivities, room reservations, event logistics, answering phones & emails,assisting and resolving problems/inquiries of visitors, banner time entry,calendar management, agenda preparation, meeting scheduling, travel arrangements,correspondence, recording & transcribing meeting minutes, document trackingand other assignments related to executive level support. Must have excellent customer serviceskills and professional demeanor.

Conditions of Employment
  • If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.
  • Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in customer service or professional office setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of FERPA requirements.
  • Ability to ask for clarification or additional information when needed.
