Position Summary

The University of NewMexico, School of Medicine and Health Sciences Center is seeking a candidatethat will contribute actively to the climate of diversity & inclusivity. We invite applications for a faculty positionin the Division of Urogynecology. Thisis an open rank, open track full-time faculty position in the Department ofObstetrics and Gynecology. UNM'sUrogynecology Division has an established fellowship, has a busy clinicalpractice, and is active in research and education.

The successful incumbent they willbe involved with clinical teaching and clinical research at clinics on and offcampus. The division is host of anaccredited Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship, with aprimary objective to train well-rounded, subspecialist physicians who areexperts in surgical anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology of the pelvicfloor. With the guidance and collectiveexperience of our faculty, fellows develop teaching and research expertise inpelvic floor disorders to assist in the development of successful andproductive academic careers. The Divisionof Urogynecology is also home of a dedicated pessary clinic focused on the careof women with prolapse and incontinence who prefer non-surgical treatment oftheir pelvic floor dysfunction. Additionally,the Division of Urogynecology also welcomes creative research opportunitieswith a team of research coordinators to aid in these adventures. To fulfill this position, we are seeking ahighly motivated, well trained, academic focused physician. The incumbent hired will be expected toparticipate in the education and surgical training of medical students,residents and fellows in the clinic, classroom, and operating room, and willprovide additional surgical opportunities for training residents and fellows. The successful incumbent must meetthe listed minimum requirements and provide a current curriculum vitae at thetime of application. This positionoffers a competitive compensation (salary commensurate with experience) andbenefits package to include health, professional liability and disabilityinsurance, relocation support, retirement plan, and CME support.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • M.D. or D.O. degree or equivalent
  • Board certified or eligible by the American Board of Obstetrics andGynecology
  • Eligible for medical licensure in NM, State of New Mexico Board ofPharmacy certification, and federal DEA registration
  • Completion of a Fellowship or advanced training in FPMRS

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience teaching students and residents
  • Clinical skills and scholarly activity
  • Experience working within a managed care environment
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Experience or interest in research activity and career development
  • A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and studentsuccess, as well as working with broadly diverse communities
