Position Summary

The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at theUniversity of New Mexico Health Sciences is seeking an attending psychiatristfor our Division of Behavioral Health Consultation and Integration, suitablefor appointment at the rank of Assistant, Associate or full Professor. The successful candidate can take fulladvantage of opportunities available in our vibrant and active academiccommunity.

As an attending psychiatrist in the UNM Department ofPsychiatry and Behavioral Sciences’ Behavioral Health Consultation andIntegration Division, the person selected will have a voice in developing theDivision’s direction as well as opportunities for multicultural clinical careand scholarly and collaborative research activities across the Health Sciencescampus. There are many opportunities for professional development inleadership, administration, and education, including mentoring and supervision ofmedical students, residents, fellows, and trainees in related disciplines.

We are eager to put together the right package for anindividual with a passion for consultation liaison psychiatry. Salary iscommensurate with experience and academic background.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • Doctorate Degree, MD or equivalent.
  • Board certified or eligible in Consultation LiaisonPsychiatry or completion of Women’s Mental Health/Reproductive PsychiatryFellowship training.
  • Consultation Liaison or Reproductive Psychiatry clinicalexperience, minimum 1 year.
  • Licensable in New Mexico.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Teaching experience with graduate students, fellows,residents and/or medical students.
  • Clinical leadership experience in an academic setting.
  • A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion,and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
